Gather intelligence. Cultivate wisdom. Act with advantage.

Our approach

Japanese companies operating in the UK and EU face a distinctive challenge: making confident, well-informed decisions in an uncertain global environment.

Business intelligence, the structured gathering, analysis, and application of information to support executive decision-making, is increasingly recognised in the Japanese business community as a critical discipline.

Many firms offer business intelligence as data or research. Holman Business Intelligence goes further, building and maintaining the bespoke human intelligence networks that generate the insights data alone cannot provide.

These are applied with an understanding of how Japanese corporations think, decide, and act.

That combination ‒ deep human networks across UK and EU business, government, law, and policy, combined with over 30 years of experience operating at senior levels inside Japanese corporations ‒ is what makes Holman Business Intelligence unique.

We do not just supply intelligence. We help you utilise it.

Key Services

  • Designing and developing tailored networks of relationships across business, government, law, and policy that generate informed, real-world insight. Outputs include early-warning risk and opportunity signals, reality checks on policy and regulatory intent, and informal stakeholder sentiment.

  • Translating what the network produces into actionable intelligence; interpreted through the lens of how Japanese organisations reach decisions in alignment with the strategy and reporting requirements of Tokyo headquarters.

  • Navigating UK and EU political and regulatory landscapes to identify risks and opportunities, and to position your organisation effectively with the right stakeholders.

  • Designing and implementing in-house intelligence capabilities aligned to your business development priorities, drawing on direct experience building and leading such a function over a decade within a major Japanese organisation.

  • Identifying and managing exposure before issues escalate, with the legal expertise to understand both the regulatory and reputational dimensions.
